I am not sure either is correct without more information. If that is the only verbage documented then you could not use the 571.8 as there is no way to know if this patient has chronic liver disease. I am not certain that 787.99 is correct either as I am not sure this is a symptom of a digestive system issue. Was this due to trauma? Are there other symptoms? what were the precipitating factors for the encounter?
