Hello all,
Per op note, complication of Baerveldt shunt resulting in hypotony and bleb leak....
Removed the shunt (67120) but having a hard time w/ the reformation of anterior chamber....
Op note:
with much effort, the footplate of the Baerveldt shunt was pulled out from its capsule. Further adhesions were cut with Westcott scissors. The tube was severed during the removal of the shunt until a small paracentesis was created at the 11 o'clock position and 0.12 forceps were used to remove the severed tube portion of the shunt from the anterior chamber. The anterior chamber was reinflated with Viscoat. The conjunctival peritomy was repaired with 8-0 Vicryl.
