Suppose a patient sustains a closed bimalleolar ankle fracture such that both the lateral and posterior malleoli are fractured but only the lateral is fixated ... do you code this as:
a) a lateral malleolus ORIF of a lateral malleolus fx (27792 with 824.2)
b) a lateral mall ORIF of a bimall fx (27792 with 824.4)
c) a bimalleolar ORIF of a bimall fx (27814 with 824.4)
d) a bimall ORIF with treatment of only one malleolus of a bimall fx (27814-52 with 824.4)
e) any other combinations not listed above?
