Doctor states he is doing a "reconstruction" of the CMC thumb. Trying to get auth from
insurance so I need code(s). I started to use 25447, however that states arthroplasty.
I know when we get operative report, it will be more specific, so we will be able to code accordingly, but I would like to be able to give something to the insurance that would be
somewhat accurate. Has anyone heard of reconstruction of CMC thumb? I would appreciate any suggestions. I don't expect pinpoint accuracy until I get an operative report, but would appreciate suggestions for the here and now.
