Hello. My physician is re-reading and EMG, he was asked by the patient to look at it, he has not physically seen the patient in the office. He is simply re-reading the test that has already been performed and read by another physician. is there something we can bill for this?

Maybe. Without knowing the whole situation, use caution when re-reading another providers work. Check modifier 77 and see if it fits the situation, a formal report will need to be generated as well as modifier 26 used by your provider. But if your provider is professionally connected to the provider who originally read the EMG, there could be political and professional ramifications.

Caution if proceeding, I would have a discussion with the provider before reporting any services and expecting payment.
 
Thank you!! Good thought. I found on the CMS website this is acceptable, our provider is not connected in any way to the other provider. ;)
