I have taken an extended period of time off work due to personal reasons. I have not been employed since December of 2014. During this time I did study and test for the CPC exam and passed in June 2015.
I recently relocated to the Twin Cities area of MN and I am having a difficult time re-entering the work force due to my absence.
I have worked in the medical billing arena since 2000 and I have 5 years experience working in an orthopedic office.
I worked with the compliance specialist to write appeals and I have done payment posting, billing and processed refunds.
Even with my experience and newly acquired coding certification, employers do not want to hire me due to my absence from the field.
Any suggestions on breaking back into the medical billing/coding field?
