I'm located in Wisconsin and our clinic lab is CLIA certified. We've started doing point of care rapid hepatitis c testing using cpt code 86803. Wisconsin Medicaid is stating that I need to use a different cpt code because of the type of CLIA certification we have and it doesn't matter if we append modifier QW to the code. I've researched other codes but they do not fit the type of testing were doing, is anyone else from Wisconsin having this issue with Medicaid or do you know of another code we should be using? The manufacture of the test suggested the same code so I'm at a loss right now and would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.
