My doctor works at a Radiology facility 1 day a week doing testing. They bill for the testing but have never billed if there was a problem with the patient. While doing a stress test, the patient went into distress with out of control hypertension, our doctor spent time treating the patient there instead of transferring to the emergency room. My question is, can I bill her services for the care of the patient, or does the radiology facility take care of that? My doc thinks they will not bill for her services. I would appreciate any advise. Thanks.

No, she has never given us a bill for that. This is the first time she actually had to attend to a patient in distress while testing there.

I would contact the person who does the billing for the facility and see if they are billing. I would think that it you would bill but it never hurts to check.
