Hello to all the smart men and women out there :) I am typically the one answering questions for members and not the one asking, but I am stumped.

Here goes....

If a physician owns an MRI and performs the test in his/her office, can he hire a Radiologist and pay per scan and then bill the MRI Globally to Medicare?

If so, can you cite a reference to that?

See Section 20.3.2--there is a statement that I think fits your situation, IF there is a contract for the radiologist. I know we have a similar setup for a cardiologist with echo's, but this is the closest reference I could find as backup.
