Is this primarily used for cardiac clearance issues only or when I have space, should it always be included? Our dr circles any use of anti coagulants, and we were told by another coder this isn't necessary.
Not sure what your question really is, but if you are asking if you need to use this for preoperative clearance, no, unless the patient is using anticoagulants on a longterm basis, and then a Pt/Ptt would probably be ordered, so you would want to use this for medical necessity. Hope that helps....
