Hi my name is Rehannah I had to reschedule my retake for the cpc exam that I was supposed to take 12/8/12. I had an emergency surgery & plan to retake no later than the first week of Feb. will I be able to use my 2012 books? I studied long and hard and panicked, help :( Thanks Worried.
 
I have proctored 4 CPC exams and the directions say you can use any year of the CPT book but the exam uses the current year CPT book. It is not a good idea to use last years book because you risk getting answers wrong There are new codes that will not be in your book or deleted codes that are no longer valid. Get a 2013 CPT book, transfer your notes and look at the changes so you are familiar with the differences between 2012 and 2013.
 
I wish you good luck when you get to take your retake test. Sorry that you had to miss the retake for 12/8/2012. I was able to take my retake test but I am not sure how I did.
