There was a patient that had a phlebectomy in the antecubital fossa. Would it be appropriate to use code 37765 or is that just for lower extremeties? What other code would I use?
Well the problem is, IMO, would be 37765 is for "varicose veins" per the CPT description. I'm not sure that 37765 could be billed when performed on an upper extremity. My initial thought is 'No' since it wouldn't be for varicose veins. Then again, I've never billed that code without it being for varicose veins.
I'm trying to think what code would be a good alternative.
