Wiki Psychiatrists billing E/M codes

I own a billing service and have a psychiatrist that wants to only bill using E/M codes. All the information that I have found references using both E/M and Psychotherapy codes. Can anyone provide information on this?

A psychiatrist may bill only E&M codes. In general, these visits are for med management. Any therapy provided during the encounter would not be reimbursed unless the additional therapy codes are used. The encounters would bill following E&M guidelines (using the 1997 specialty exam for psychiatry). These are changes made in 2013.
