When a doctor orders UVB treatment or Laser treatment of any condition, and the non physician employee of that doctor makes an error in the settings for treatment on a particular day, who is responsible for this error?
Ultimately the supervising physician. Hopefully the staff person is qualified by state standards to operate the equipment. But the person performing the service is also liable. If there was nonphysician in the office to supervise, then it could be a bigger issue. It depends on the staff persons qualifications and licensure.
