This is a new one! One of my docs won Stump the Coder today!
What he did was a "prostate shaving surgery" - he took partial specimens - looking to see if bladder cancer spread - transuretherally. Everything I find points to a TURP. I have not seen the dictation yet - the doctor called me to ask about it before he dictated it.
Essentially, any time they touch the prostate transuretherally, it's a TURP or a re-TURP, huh?
Any insight would be appreciated!
