I have been working on claims that are denied by Medicare because the procedures were performed during the global surgery period. I know that 20610 is definitely not going to be paid separately under the global period unless it's related to diagnosis different from the one for the surgery. What I want to know is are there specific procedures that Medicare will pay separately if they are performed during the postoperative period at all? Or do all procedures will be included in the global package as long as the diagnosis is the same as it is for surgeries?
