If the reading physician doesn't read a test/procedure until a later date which date of service should be used the day that the test was completed or the day that the test was read? The date in the dictation states the day that the test was completed. It almost appears like the doctor just didn't dictate his services until the later date.

It depends on your POS.
Are you office based or hospital based?

If you are office, bill the procedure globally using the date test performed.
If outpatient based, you bill the interpretation/reading the day THAT was done, with modifier 26. The hospital would have billed the technical on the dat the test was performed.
