patient delivered 7/31/21 w/ 2nd degree laceration repair, at the post partum visit on 10/1 it was found to be not healing correctly
on 10/28 a repair was done..op note states an area of defect was noted on exam, metzenbaum scissors used to remove this area of defect from right labum minus
hemostasis with silver nitrate application & bovie electrocautery

have not come across this before..any help much appreciated

You could possibly use the 11420-11426 codes for removal of benign lesion of genitalia if you know the size. If you do not have size documented then you would have to default to 11420. It does not sound like this was intended to be a biopsy, but rather a removal and no sutures were involved so 56605 would not fit the bill, but the work involved was probably the same so an alternative is to report the unlisted code 58999 and compare the work to 56605.
