What codes do you use for a previous cesarean section? I was using O34.21 but then came across a question/answer at supercoder.com that said to use O75.82 for a planned C-section coding first your O34.21. Can anyone please explain to me in lay terms when you would use O75.82 if you don't use it this way? Thank you in advance for any information shared about this post.

To me, it sounds like you would only use o75.82 when the patient goes into labor before the planned surgery date, eg, they have a scheduled c-section for 39/40 weeks and they go into labor at 37 weeks. It's kind of an odd code, because it's only a two week window.
