How do other practices address patients who want to utilize their routine eye benefit through a medical health preventatitve package when the patient also has a medical condition (such as diabetes or trace cataracts) that the physician is following?
It has been suggested that we bill with V72.0 then list any other conditions. If the doctor wants to see the patient back in one year to monitor a cataract, would you still bill V72.0 then 366.16 (cataract) so that the patient can use the routine benefit? Or do you have to code the cataract as the primary diagnosis?
You should also know that we do not accept any Vision plans. We only deal with medical insurance plans.
