Hello,

Can anyone tell me if a doctor has a patient take prescription drugs or gives an injection do they fall under the Moderate Management Options of the Medical Decision Making. I was told the injections fall under that section but was wondering about prescription drugs.

Thank you,
LLR

Short answer, yes

It doesn't matter how the patient takes a Rx. It can be injected, or taken by mouth. Either way you meet the bullet for "Prescription Drug Management" on the Table of Risk.

However, just refilling a prescription does not meet this. Assuming everything is fine, no complications, the dose does not have to be increased or decreased for any reason, then it would not qualify. There Is no medical decision making in that case.

However, if the Rx does not have the desired result, and the physician needs to either increase the dose, decrease the dose or try another Rx, that would qualify as prescription drug management.
