What code do you use in order to bill for the preop psyciatric counseling prior to Bariatric Surgery? (The pt is sent to us by the surgeon for Preop psych counseling prior to bariatric surgery) any Help and/or advice appreciated.

It sounds to me like an office visit. I'm guessing due to the forum, that your provider is a gastroenterologist and not a psychiatrist. If so it should be subject to the appropriate E/M coding.
 
BTW. You may want to review Psychiatric CPT's as well starting at 90801--. But in my experience I've had cases of bio feed back training that were not payable within the spectrum of our specialty and had to recode with the appropriate E/M for reimbursement.
