Wiki Prenatal Visit Dx, Elderly

I get a bit confused on prenatal visit diagnosis for patients over 35 years old.


Example: 42 yr old, here for prenatal visit, has had normal pregnancies before, she is currently in third trimester.

Should i be using dx

O09.513 Supervision of elderly primigravida, third trimester

or

Z34.83 Encounter for supervision of other normal pregnancy, third trimester

Age of the patient alone qualifies for and necessitates the O09 code. Reason being: the level of care an older pregnant person will be higher (as in additional tests, scans, labs, etc.) and would need the O09 code to justify additional visits/testing above and beyond what a "normal" bundled code would reimburse for.
