This is probably a silly question. If a claim is denied because a precertification was required but not obtained is there anything that can be done? I have several claims denied for this reason and of course the procedure is already performed. Is there something that can be done post procedure?

You can attempt to get a retro-authorization, if you are contracted. If you are not contracted, and it is not a governmental plan (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) then bill the patient.
