Hi everyone. I'm working with a multispecialty group which has newly hired a Nurse Practitioner. Physical Therapy services will be billed incident to the NP. In other words Box 31 will have the NPs credentials while 24J (rendering provider) will have the actual Physical Therapist's NPI#.
When securing preauthorization's, do we register it under the NP or the PT?
Also, when it comes to New Jersey PIP. Can a patient be seen by the Nurse Practitioner AND get treated by the Physical Therapist on the same day? Does the E&M code from the NP get applied to the $105 daily cap?
