Wiki Pre Negotiating Unlisted Procedures

Good Afternoon All,

I know I have put this out before but didn't receive much feedback. I thought I would try again since our positions and practices evolve so fast.

We are looking to start Pre-Negotiating unlisted procedure codes for payors that we are having a difficult time getting reimbursment from. I am hoping to get any feedback on if your practice is doing this etc.
Also if you have any sample templates of what you are sending to your payors would be helpfull.

Our surgery schedulers/precert dept lets them know up front it will be billed unlisted with an appropriate comparison code listed and gives that comparison code as well. Its usually only an issue with a few of our work comp carriers.
