Wiki Post/pre auricular skin-Specimen sent to pathology

I am probably reading too much into this but...

Specimen sent to pathology labeled "skin; postauricular." Would you consider "postauricular" and "preauricular" skin of the ear? Or would you believe it is referring to the skin 'behind' the ear (scalp?) and skin 'in front of' ear (face?)

Definitely behind the ear (scalp or neck) and in from of the ear (face).
