Our ortho surgeon is injecting pt's sciatic nerve as post op pain management at the end of the procedure. We are using 64445 but are not being paid because it is bundled with the main procedure(numerous CPT Codes) with a zero indicator in CCI. Can the surgeon bill for the injection or should this only be billed by an anesthesiologist. Also, are we possibly not using the correct cpt for the injection. Please advise where I can find documentation on this issue. Thank you in advance for your help.
