My dr did a knee scope on a patient and then a month later she was playing softball and she injured her knee. She came into the office and was given a injection in the same knee she had sx on. Would modifier 79 go on the injection 20610 with no office visit billed. It is blue cross and blue shield insurance...

Yes, I would use the 79 modifier as this was not a planned procedure at the time of the global surgery.

If this is a new injury, playing baseball, could you also bill for the E&M with a modifier 24,25 & the injection/aspiration? Mary
