Our sleep lab wants to bill separately for an EEG done at the time of a sleep study/polysomnography, mainly when the EEG is for a patient with possible seizure issues. I told them that I'm pretty sure the EEG is included, but I'm trying to find documentation beyond what is in CPT.
Also, can a pulmonologist and a neurologist bill separately for the same PSG, namely when the pulmonologist interprets the sleep study itself and the neurologist interprets the EEG?
Thank you in advance for your help!
