I have a sports medicine provider new to our group. She wants to bill for PRP injections however we do not draw or do the centrifuge portion of the procedure. She stated that she has a local lab that draws and does the spin. I am not sure what they are coding.
I feel that we are not performing the full service of the 0232T, so should this still be coded as such?
She states she draws the plasma after the spin, then injects with US guidance.
The ortho group I previously worked for had a company that would come in to do the draw, prep (not sure who would "harvest" if that means pulling in the plasma to inject). The ortho docs didn't use US guidance so we would just bill the injection code.
Thus far I haven't seen this issue on any thread, any input is appreciated.
