Hi,
REASON:
hip pain
INTERPRETATION:
Ultrasound-guided hamstring injection
Clinical indication: Right pain outside MRI reveals proximal hamstring
tendon injury
The risks and benefits of the procedure were discussed and informed consent
was obtained. Sedation for the ensuing arthroscopy was provided by the
anesthesiologist. While in the operating room blood was withdrawn and
platelet rich plasma prepared. The patient was prepped and draped in usual
sterile fashion. Under sonographic guidance the origin of the hamstring
tendons was identified. Lidocaine 1% was injected to provide local
anesthesia.
Using ultrasound guidance a 22-gauge than 20-gauge needle was advanced to
the ischial tuberosity and the hamstring tendon origins. In this location
8 mL of platelet rich plasma was injected. Ultrasound imaging was used to
document needle position.
Impression: Successful ultrasound guided injection of platelet rich plasma
to the origin of the right hamstring tendons.
can i use 20551 for this procedure?
thanks in advance
