I need a code for placement of peritoneal drains that are being left in for continued drainage.

OP Note:

the left and right flank after wide prep and drape, we made 2 skin incisions and utilizing a fine hemostat, we were able to carefully enter the peritoneum. the egress of fluid could be appreciated on both sides. we passed a fine silver probe with the guide suture, we secured this to the drain which had been a soft quarter-inch Penrose type drain. we fashioned centrally 2 or 3 small holes in the drain that would allow for a lavage of the abdomen and we situated the drain from 1 side to the other by pulling the suture. we secured it at the skin and minimized the opening with interrupted 4-0 silk sutures. we flushed 3ml twice to eavch of the drain ends alternation 1 side with the other. fluid was retrieved out through the drain primarily with each flush and of the minimal fluid that may remain in the abdomen it was free to drain through the separate stab incisions. the child tolerated this procedure well. we placed a clean sterile dressing over each of the drain sites with 2x2.

i'm looking at 49020.

any thoughts.
