Hi there,
I am hoping that you can help to clarify a little confusion that we have regarding place of service and E/M Code sets.
If a patient LIVES in a skilled nursing facility which E/M code set should we applying?
Nursing Facility Code category: 99304-99310 Vs.
Domiciliary Code category: 99324-99337
We are having discussion in that some say if they are in a SNF regardless of their care level we should be using the E/M SNF code categories. Others are saying that if they are in a SNF but are considered custodial/or this is their residence then the Domiciliary code category should be applied.
Any guidance is appreciated.
