We are trying to determine a place of service for lab services-they would be drawn at a draw station off campus, then the specimen brought to the hospital facility lab (outpatient) for testing. Is it appropriate to use the POS 22 for these?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!:)
 
The place of service is where the patient encounter took place, not where the specimen ends up. POS 15 or 19 may be options. Do any of the other listed POS codes read more like where the patient was located when the specimen was drawn?
