This may be a really dumb question, but here it is regardless. If a patient has surgery and is a "same day admit", would I use the outpatient modifier or the inpatient modifier? Or is there a more specific one that I did not see? I have had a few claims denied due to the modifiers not being consistent with the facility. I have tried to contact the facility without any luck, they don't feel it is necessary to help in any way. They wouldn't even take my call. Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Have a great day!
