Please help! How should I code revision pinning for PIP replantation. The surgeon removes the pins from the fingertip, image intensifier indicated normal DIP joints, but attempted fusion of the PIP joints. Beginning with the index finger the PIP joint was flexed about 30 degrees and cross pinned with .045 k-wire. The middle finger was pinned in about 30-35 degrees of flexion. The pins were cut beneath the skin.
No incisions were made. I don't feel I can code arthrodesis, should I code this as unlisted. This isn't a fracture, so I don't feel coding percutaneous fixation would be correct. Any Ideas????
