I am looking for some guidance on the appropriate coding for PICC placements using ECG guidance. The first scenario is a PICC placement with Intracavity ECG at bedside, essentially using a guidance system to confirm tip placement of the PICC. I am not sure if ECG confirmation would be included in the PICC placement as part of the imaging aspect of CPT code 36573, but would like to know if there is an existing code pair that can be used. I could not find a separate code for the system, so I am assuming that it would be part of the overall procedure. Also, since this is being done bedside, does this change what code needs to be reported? Thanks in advance for any guidance provided!
