Hi all,
Hoping to get some insight on a small (possible) situation I've come across. I work in a multi-specialty Neurology-based clinic; we do a lot of EMG/NCV testing, often referred from outside doctors. Most of the time, the order is sent over with the requested test, and "First available Neurologist" marked on the form. Sometimes they request a specific doctor to perform the testing. If they do request a specific doctor, and for some reason the patient is scheduled with a different doctor, are we required to get a new order with the other doctor's name on it? Or does it not really matter which provider, as long as the correct test is performed?
Appreciate any guidance or resources anyone can offer! TIA!!
