Does anyone have experience with making an arrangement with a laboratory that the office will bill for the entire lab service, then pay the lab for processing the specimen? (The lab doesn't bill the insurance)

Is there a modifier that the physician office would use or ?

Thanks for any help!

Our office uses a reference lab, they bill us a contracted rate, and we bill the patients insurance. Since the lab is drawn in our office lab, we bill a venipuncture too.. Just bill as usual, with no modifiers.

Yes. Be sure to watch for services that should be in a bundle, like general health, is 80050, which includes CMP, CBC, and TSH... most insurance will bundle, if you don't catch it.... Place of service is 11.
