Hello!

recently I have come across an issue when billing 97140. I have been told that 97140 can only point to pain and weakness on the CMS 1500 form. I have searched the internet like crazy to find an answer, and I haven't had any luck.

Can I point 97140 to other DX codes besides pain and weakness???
 
I have not had any issues when billing 97140 (I bill for a local therapy company) with many other dx's. Where did you get this info? I hope there is not something strange in the future for therapists, they are already getting the short end.
 
we have been billing this way for some time, it was passed down I guess is the best way to say it :) we are not to sure where this information was found at.
