Can someone tell me if 99441-99443 are meant to represent ONLY the time spent on the phone? Or would this documentation be acceptable "Time spent by the provider delivering the care documented in this encounter 20 minutes-including documentation"?
I have not been able to find any information that gets that specific.

Hi there, if you're asking whether the provider can include the time they spent documenting the visit - No. And you won't count total time spent on the phone. As the full descriptor states, you can only count the time spent on medical discussion.

For example:

Telephone evaluation and management service by a physician or other qualified health care professional who may report evaluation and management services provided to an established patient, parent, or guardian not originating from a related E/M service provided within the previous 7 days nor leading to an E/M service or procedure within the next 24 hours or soonest available appointment; 5-10 minutes of medical discussion
