Wiki Pet/ct & diagnostic ct

Is anyone getting reimbursed for doing a PET/CT and an additional diagnostic CT on the same day with medical necessity? Apparently oncologist would like to order these tests.

Just to clarify...
-The patient would have a PET/CT and then the patient would go for diagnostic CT's (e.g. neck, chest, etc.), same day. The PET/CT images were obtained and then additional diagnostic CT images are obtained.

PET Scan with additional CT

I have had limited success in getting that CT reimbursed. Some carriers are ok with the
59, but others have bundled it regardless of modifiers or arguments. Sorry, but I cannot give you anything definitive. Good Luck.
