I'm struggling to find the right code for PeIN, squamous intraepithelial lesions of the penis.

PeIn-3, High grade, I get is 233.5.
PeIn-2: I'm told that the term "moderate" (2) should not be used any more.
How does one code for PeIN-1?
The path report reads, "low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (condyloma acuminatum)."
Coding just for the condyloma does not seem adequate.

Suggestions? Guidelines? I've been researching this on the Internet with no success.

I talked with one of our pathologist today. He said it was fine to code the low grade lesion as condyloma. He also said the it was appropriate to code the high grade lesion as equivalent with carcinoma-in-situ, 233.5.

Hi!!!
I would go with 233.5 wich is carcinma in situ of the pennis. If you only had the condiloma accuminatum then you could have code it as 078.11.

Have a nice day
