Any code available that can be used for just the work of preparing the discharge papers if the mental-health patient doesn't show for their appointment? CPT 99238 isn't an option because there was no exam and do understand that the paperwork is part of the EM code. Is the physician out of luck at this point, or is there any code or modifier than can be used? Again, I don't think so, but since this is not my specialty thought I'd ask the list members for confirmation. Thanks for any guidance, answers or links!
