We're sending out Paps with reflex HPVs for ASCUS to our lab. Meaning that if the Pap results as ASCUS, the HPV test is automatically done, and no HPV test is done if the result is normal.
For situations where we are going to be billing the insurance company, we don't know whether the HPV test will be done on her DOS. Is there any coding that could be done besides just posting the Thin Prep Pap (with -90 modifier) on the DOS and then going back and adding the HPV test if done?
