Currently our pathologists are billing CPT code 88142 for a pap smear. IF they have to use acid wash or other chemical to get rid of bloody discharge when a patient has their monthly menstrual cycle, is there another code that they can bill for to reocup some the costs for chemicals, etc?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
