I work for a neurosurgeon in Texas. We are bringing on a PA. Does anyone know if the doctor has to sign the PAs notes. I have looked everywhere and can't find an answer.
 
A physician signature is not required. Per the Texas statutes: "A physician assistant's signature attesting to the provision of a service the physician assistant is legally authorized to provide satisfies any documentation requirement for that service established by a state agency. "

However, your supervising physician should review the supervision requirements and other rules in Texas which include notification of the medical board and establishment of a process to evaluate the PA's performance, see Subchapter E in the statutes here:
