Wentworth-Douglass Hospital has an opening for an Outpatient Documentation Improvement Specialist in the Coding Department.

Job Description:

Reports to the coding manager, and provides an analysis of clinical documentation related to targeted medically necessary therapeutic, diagnostic and rehabilitative care in order to identify concerns that may impact reimbursement. Oversees education, assistance and support to WDH physicians for pro-active efforts with documentation improvement. Collaborates with clinical and administrative staff to implement process changes. Identifies opportunities for improved charge integrity through documentation improvement. Acts as a primary resource to the Coding Department and as an adjunct resource to the Revenue Department in relation to carrier coverage determinations as they pertain to documentation requirements.

Requirements:

Requires 3-5 years chart auditing, billing and coding experience within an HIM or Revenue Department.

Three years experience in chart auditing/coding within an HIM or Revenue Department

CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, COC, CIC, CCS-P
CPMA in addition to at least one of the above is preferred. Any other specialty coding certification is a plus.

Bachelors Degree in Business, Education, Nursing or Health Administration or 10+ years experience in a healthcare revenue setting, with coding, billing, auditing, or nursing experience.

Salary 52-81K. This is not a remote position.
