My co-worker and I wanted clarification on delivery codes sequencing. Which do we code first: weeks of gestation or outcome of delivery?

Thanks

The weeks of gestation and outcome of delivery are both secondary only codes and will not matter which ones goes before the other. You need a delivery code to be first listed.

I took the AAPC ICD-10 boot camp class and did the OB/GYN Specialty one as well. You don't use weeks gestation or the delivery. Its only or antepartum stuff. If you had a patient with a normal bag delivery you would code O80,Z37.O and thats all. No weeks gestation. This was also a question on the exam and it was correct coded this way.:)
